this is the most well know street in the tourist side of CAiro, set in the heart of Khan Al Khalili, with its tall minarets and steeples and bustles stores full of all kinds of stuff one may buy on a whim. I wanted this painting to be my tribute to CAiro and the year of my life I spent there.

I love these street scenes of Morocco, the air filled with the scent of spices, the colours create a magical atmosphere that permeates the scene with beautiful harmonies. Along the street vendors are everywhere waiting to offer their thousand different spices to tantalize the senses. This amazing sight, quite intoxicating is a joy to behold and paint.

This frenetic street in the old median of Marrakech was a wonder to me, wondering what it would be like to experience the street from the back of a moped that weaves its way through the people, in and out of shadows, brightly coloured objects, patterns, shapes and changing lights that great them, almost assault them as they pass through the kaleidoscopic space.
